Here is the video, i did replace the original battery of my JBL Xtreme 1 with Samsung 18650 30Q battery cells. This way i have 20% more power in the unit. It'll hopefully play now 18 hours instead of 15 hours.
A few years back i replaced the battery already with old used laptop battery cells. This was basically recycled batteries. If you think about a laptop battery pack, if only one cell dies, the whole pack gets replaced. there may be many other batteries in the pack that are still usable. That's what i did, and now was the time to spend about $30 for four Samsung 18650-30Q cells with 3000mAh each.
The original JBL battery cells have about 2500mAh each.
In order to fit the batteries into the Xtreme 1 housing, we need to modify it a little. But it is not very difficult, and once you do it the new 18650 batteries fit nicely into the slot.
See here the original video where i show how to modify the case.
I am re-using the old BMS board from the old pocket batteries, it is easy to remove, and you just solder a few new wires to it. Look at the schematic i made for this here:

If you use a LG MJ1 3500mAh for this pack, you could get a battery pack with 4 x 3500mAh = 14,000mAh, and that would be 4,000mAh more than the OEM pack.
Very exiting, because that would mean 40% more energy than the original. I shall try this, and modify my brand new Xtreme 3. If it plays 15 hours, as it says in the specs, then with 40% more, it may play for 21 hours, if my math is correct. Amazing.
